Hello
unto you.
We are
very close to announcing the final lineup of Turnament, the turntablist
festival now scheduled for UCLA at Royce Hall, November 8 and 9, 2002.
Optimally, it should be to you within the coming week and then, of
course, comes the unrepentant and delugional press onslaught; http://www.turnament.com
for the usual constant updates.
But, until then, here's what's happening near you.

"La

"The
Zanzibar Films and the Dandies of May 1968"
"Zanzibar
Films" designates a little known chapter in the history of French
Cinema. It is the activity of an informal association of young filmmakers,
born of the intellectual and evolutionary movement of May 1968. The
majority of their films have never been distributed, and some of them
have disappeared without trace. Others have reached mythic or cult
status. Curator Sally Shafto presents an illlustrated talk to illuminate
this little known chapter in the history of French Cinema."
