"Out of the Blue".
"For the next year, I will be running this daily radio programme for Resonance FM. It will be broadcast between 23.30-00.00 Greenwich Mean time, and also via http://www.resonancefm.com

It will consist of an unedited real-time recording of that same half hour as heard through somebody's ears somewhere in the world: a daily hole in space and time. All time zones will be covered and as many geographical locations as possible. The ears will belong to a lot of people doing a lot of different things. Be somewhere someone else for 30 minutes every day. Most windows will be commissioned, but there is room for more, so anyone wishing to participate, please contact me at cc@megacorp.u-net.com "

SEPTEMBER 1 - 20
RICHARD CROW - exhibition
"Lost Narratives".

"Lost Narratives incorporates photographic materials from the artist's archive and an audio work created in situ. Part of the installation is a projection which will be visible at night from Santa Maria bridge, in the atmospheric, historical centre of Rovereto.

'Lost Narratives' alludes to real, imaginary, secret, fatal and sometimes absurd stories that an abandoned object narrates, by and through its intrinsic beauty. The object presented here is a collection of slides from the 1960's discovered by the artist in his family house after the death of his father and preserved in the archive at the Institution of Rot, Crow's home-studio based in London, active between 1992 and 1996 as a 'secret' space for performances. Named after an essay by Michel de Certeau, the IOR began working on the aesthetic tension provided by the two principles of composition and decomposition.

Many of the sculptures and objects produced at the IOR, like the well known "Suicide Milk", are found objects which have a relation with our unconscious life. Used up, discarded and adrift from their utilitarian course, these objects speak about death and decay. Turned into sculptures these objects assume a symbolic value or in the context of a live performance become 'performative objects'."

"Light Forms".
"Two installations for the Horgalerie, which is inside an old church in Berlin's Mitte district. The first, "Light Forms", involves sound and a film / video work related to Jasper Snowden's bell ringing scores and my own system of sign language for the translation of the alphabet. For short text on the work see : http://www.inbetweennoise.com/lightforms.html. The second work is a smaller version of a piece shown recently at Gallery E/Static in Torino using the sound of glass bottles."
